[ARCHIVED] PWGSC Seeks Feedback on Temporary Help Services

[ARCHIVED August 2, 2016 – This page will no longer be updated.]

Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) is seeking feedback from federal government departments and suppliers on the way that the federal government buys temporary help services (THS). To this end, PWGSC has provided two online questionnaires, one for THS suppliers, and one for client departments. The deadline for responses is 2:00 p.m. EDT, August 31, 2015.

The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to assist PWGSC in determining the best approach to procure THS, and to support the development of a Procurement Strategy for THS, taking into consideration the following three situations when client departments may use THS:

    1. When a public servant is absent for a temporary period of time
    1. When there is a requirement for additional staff during a temporary workload increase
    1. When a position is vacant and a staffing action is being completed

    Consultations
During the posting period of the RFI, PWGSC intends to hold:

    • up to two consultation days with industry
    • two consultation days with client departments
    • one-on-one consultations with suppliers
    • one-on-one consultations with client departments

The consultations will provide an opportunity to comment on the THS scenarios described in the online questionnaires, provided with the RFI. The consultations will also permit stakeholders to provide feedback and recommendations concerning current THS procurement processes.

Dates, locations and details for the consultations will be provided as available. One-on-one consultations with client departments will be arranged directly by PWGSC.

Suppliers or supplier associations that wish to have a one-on-one consultation with PWGSC should advise PWGSC by July 31, 2015 by sending an e-mail to dgasat.acqbths@tpsgc-pwgsc.gc.ca with “Request for THS Supplier One-on-one Consultation” in the subject line.
