[ARCHIVED] Updates to Professional Services Strategy – New dates for TBIPS, TSPS, and ProServices

Based on feedback received during consultations, PWGSC is re-organizing its release dates for its major Professional Services Supply Arrangements and Standing Offers.
Anyone who’s read my previous comments regarding the government’s new ProServices Supply Arrangement will know that we have been pushing for the government to refresh the Task-Based Informatics Professional Services (TBIPS) and Task and Solutions Professional Services (TSPS) Task-Based supply arrangements as soon as possible. It has been 2 years since TBIPS and TSPS were last posted for refresh and since TBIPS and TSPS Task-Based vendors will likely be “grandfathered” for ProServices it makes sense to give non-TBIPS and non-TSPS vendors the chance to qualify one more time before the new ProServices Arrangement is introduced.
As such, we’re very pleased to see that PWGSC will be releasing TBIPS and TSPS refresh solicitations late-fall/early-winter. Also, PWGSC will release a draft Request for Supply Arrangement for ProServices this fall, with one more opportunity for the vendor community to provide feedback.
These changes will allow current PS Online vendors, as well as any interested vendors not currently on any government supply arrangements, to consider bidding on TBIPS or TSPS in lieu of ProServices if they meet the criteria. Especially in the case of non-IT suppliers (HR, Organizational Development/Change Management, Evaluation Services, Project Management), TSPS is well within reach for many micro-sized and independent companies and sole-proprietors.
The new anticipated dates for the next solicitation are as follows:
- TBIPS – Winter 2012/2013
- TSPS – Winter 2012/2013
- ProServices – Spring 2013 (A draft will be released in the Fall of 2012)
