[ARCHIVED] Highlights from the Ontario MGS Vendor of Record Information Sessions – Nov 19, 2013

The Ontario Ministry of Government Services hosted information sessions on November 19 to provide vendors with information about the upcoming renewals for the Task-Based Information & Information Technology (I&IT) VOR and the Management Consulting Services VOR. The RFP for the first VOR to be renewed, the Management Consulting Services VOR, is slated to be released before the end of November.
The key highlights of the meeting include:
- The Ministry anticipates posting the Management Consulting Services VOR RFP before the end of November, with a mid-January due date. The question and answer process should be wrapped-up before the Christmas break. Posting of the Task-Based I&IT VOR RFP is anticipated for early March 2014.
- Existing Vendors will be able to attest to their qualifications and will not be required to resubmit its resource plan nor references. They can add categories/roles by providing references for those categories/roles only.
- New vendors can expect requirements very similar to those in the current VORs. MGS did some fine-tuning to help vendors home in on the required information, but for the most part the requirements are the same.
- The term of each VOR is as follows:
- Management Consulting Services – June 2014 to June 2017 (plus, optionally, 1 additional year to June 2018)
- Task-Based I&IT – June 2014 to June 2017
- Refreshes that allow new vendors to qualify, or existing vendors to qualify for new categories, will take place annually (instead of every 6-8 months under the current VORs)
- Changes have also been made to the roles and service categories in each VOR:
- Management Consulting Services has one new service category (Organization Transformation Services), and three new roles (Functional Classification Specialist, Organization Transformation Capacity Consultant, and Organization Transformation Consultant).
- The Task-Based I&IT is still under review.
